we just got back from our break for Christmas it was so fun and relaxing but we have had a very stressful return.  the tank when we walked in was very low on water and mrs williwams said that our water had almost completely been evaporated and the pump was making some really gross sounds but the plants thrived and all the fish lived!!!

our aquaponics system is thriving, though we are having a small issue with murky water, it can be fixed with more plant beds. we are going to add another layer of plant beds so that we can accommodate to the amount of fish poo that our fish create. the pants that we have are thriving as well but we have high hopes and dreams of expanding our water empire of growth into new territories!!!

This week in biology, we have finished up our evolution unit. We now have started our new unit in microbiology. So far we have talked about viruses, and if they are alive or not. We also talked about the structure of viruses, and how they attack cells.

In November we went to the Vancouver aquarium as part of our zoology unit, and i actually love the aquarium so much I used to go there with my family every couple of months we won a full year pass! I love fish so much and I have so many tanks at home so it was really fun to observe all the different tanks and take pictures of them. I got to pet sting rays and it was so funny, this little one kept trying to bite me, i was so happy. We got an assignment to do for while we were there so it wasn't just for fun. Our aquaponics system is running very well and we just completed our first harvest.

We dissected the frog today again for the second day. My partner Shaughnessy and i got a female frog. Only Tyrone and Sam got male frogs, which is what Mrs.Williams said was better to get because you wouldn't have to clear out the ovaries and eggs, I was away on day two of the frog dissection so Shaughnessy had to remove the eggs which was a mess. It was super interesting seeing all the muscles the frog and how they were specialized to that specific part of the body. after we were done dissecting we removed all the muscles and played with the frog like a puppet.

1)I feel that I've met the first learning outcome( demonstrate an intellectual understanding about the problem in a personal, local, and global perspective) when I completed my infographic I went deep into my topic and learned a lot even though I was unable to have a chance to present my project 2) I am able to identify the key stakeholders for any given group because of my research for our many projects. many of the stake holders would be predictable by common sense but a lot of them are surprising! 3)The environmental implications of the food production have perhaps the most serious ramifications of those three choices. because of the large amounts of food and water these animals and farms need to produce the amount of food necessary 37% of earths land is covered in agriculture and that's a whack ton!. 4)The amount of water needed just to sustain a couple of cows could be better used for something, or better yet, preserved and saved so that it could be used at a later time...
